Anthony's restaurant was once part of the historic Carsonia Park known as the "Beer Garden" and then became Charlie's Valley Inn - a Pennside landmark. |
|
| Anthony's was founded and established in 1996 by Judi Frazier, following
inspiration from her father, who hailed from the Abruzzi region of Italy where the best chefs in the country
are schooled, and was also the chef at the Former Spartico Society Club. |
|
Our chef, Victor Mejia was trained in his native island of Santo Domingo , working extensively for the hotel restaurants in the beautiful beach resorts. He than migrated to San Juan where he continued his career as a chef until finally arriving in the "Big Apple" where he learned much of his knowledge of Italian cuisine working in two different Manhattan-Italian restaurants. In the early 1990's, he came to Reading and became the head chef at Anthony's Trattoria, turning out wonderful dishes ever since. |
Owner Bill Salvatore travels extensively to Italy, and aids Victor in constantly recreating the menu to provide exciting new dishes that he discovers while dining with his friends who also have restaurants established there. Bill travels to the Italian wineries to taste and harvest grapes, as well as the oils and is constantly watching the market for the finest Italian products available.
